Sopwell House Brassiere was a gem of a find. The menu, food, and service were top notch. It’s easy to get lost in corporate blandness in a big place like this, but our party of 10 were treated like special guests, especially by our waiter who sadly had to leave at the end of his shift - we cannot thank him and Sopwell House enough for making our lady’s golden birthday dinner a night to remember.

Amazing location, lovely stay with friends. Food was nice. For short break perfect location and lovely hotel. We went to the hotel with 3 children and 4 adults as the hotel is 15 mins drive to Colchester Zoo kids enjoyed the pool in the hotel plus a short drive to the Zoo was plus point. Views were lovely from the room.

Second time at Sopwell house, this time in a bring a friend deal. Great value - £199 for two people to stay in a lovely double room. Very comfy bed, 50 minute treatment each, and use of the spa from 3pm on day of arrival. We went on Friday night, the hot stone massage was amazing. The pool was quiet and very relaxing. Staff at breakfast were friendly too. Will definitely be returning.

Where do I begin. From the main reception to the restaurant to the spa and beyond. I've never had such a wonderful experience. A value for money stay, from dinner on the first night to afternoon tea on the second. As for the spa, out of this world.

Table of 8 adults and 5 children went to the Brasserie for lunch to celebrate my nan's 90th birthday. We had the buffet 3 course lunch and it was fabulous - a great selection of hot and cold food. The roast lamb was perfectly cooked. The staff were truly wonderful, they were very attentive and really helped make the afternoon. Surroundings are lovely too. Great day had by all!
